Their safe and controlled fires make them highly versatile, allowing you to use them nearly everywhere such as indoors and on patio decks. Their luxurious and warm presence is sure to bring a new life to your patio, allowing you to get the most out of it all year round. Best Propane Fire Pit Reviews
Below you can read an in-depth analysis of each unit, ensuring you get to know them perfectly.
Blue Rhino’s Endless Summer line puts out a good budget fire pit that was made with attention to detail and has a sleek design to boot. It puts out 30,000 BTUs at maximum, which leaves me wanting a bit more potency, but the beautiful resin mantel and hidden control panel make up for it. It’s big enough (24.5” high) to store a 20lb propane tank inside and the internal control-panel is also very easy to use. The fire pit is surprisingly resilient to the elements and usage, provided it isn’t exposed to extreme heat, and comes with a free cover and brown fire glass. Blue Rhino also offers 1 year of warranty. With a very reasonable price, great-looking design and surprising sturdiness, this Endless Summer fire pit is a great choice if you’re on a budget.
After owning several underwhelming faux-stone round fire pits, this Bond piece got into my hands and quickly gained my approval. It takes everything that makes this type of fire pit great and executes it with grace and quality. It puts out a great 50,000 BTUs that are sure to keep you warm and the 36” diameter makes sure that many more can join you. The fake stones are among the best-looking ones I’ve seen, blending in beautifully with the surroundings. The controls are quick and easy to use but although the fire pit’s fairly large, the 20lb propane tank still can’t be stored inside (I recommend putting it inside a deck box to hide it discreetly). It’s resistant too, being able to endure the heat and the weather without damage. With a free cover and lava rocks to boot, the “Petra” is a great gas fire pit and in my opinion, among the best of its rounded faux-stone category. The inexpensive price-tag is a nice bonus.
One of the most popular fire pits out there, Hiland’s famous fire pit delivers solid quality and performance at a great price and with a variety of finishes (bronze, slate and more). Featuring a max heat output of 40,000 BTUs, it will keep everyone around it nice and warm. It’s good looking and the base allows you to store a 20lb propane tank inside, which is easily accessible by using the door. The flame potency knob is placed out on the side, being nearly invisible from above which is great. Being made of steel, this thing’s durable but even then I’d recommend that you use a cover to maintain its finish since it can start to give in if not taken care of. It comes with a fireglass set and a “lid” that you can use to cover the burner and use the fire pit as a table. The set-up and controls are both straightforward. There’s a reason for its popularity – it’s classic, sturdy and fairly priced.
From its minimal style to the solid performance, Camp Chef’s Monterey propane fire pit keeps it simple but effective and comes with a great price-tag too. Before I go into more detail, I did have an issue with the Monterey at first, the burner wouldn’t maintain a flame no matter what I did. I returned it and got a replacement (Camp Chef was very helpful) that worked perfectly well but other people seem to have this problem as well sometimes – if you do, just give Camp Chef a call and they’ll troubleshoot and fix it. Moving on to the analysis, this fire pit is sturdily built and features great construction quality with both the base and top being made of steel although the base is powder coated and the top has a beautiful penny vein finish. The construction makes me confident in its ability to endure use and weather although as you already know, you should always use a cover (not included) to extend its life. The Monterey weighs 65 pounds, stands at 24” of height and the rectangular top measures around 40”x19” with the burner area measuring 28”x8”. These dimensions make it look slim and quite attractive even if a bit small for larger spaces. Its heating ability is solid, putting out 40,000 BTUs powered by a 20lb propane tank that can be stored inside of the fire pit. The setup and controls are as easy as can be and the free black fireglass that it comes with is absolutely stunning. It also comes with a matching “lid” to cover the flame box and use the fire pit as a table and although I’ve found it to be slightly small to act as one, it’s perfectly fine to place a few drinks on. It’s not without its flaws but the quality is undeniable and the attractive price makes it hard not to get one – the Monterey is a great choice if you want a simple and sturdy fire pit that will last years on end.
This beautiful Endless Summer fire pit takes the already great cheaper model and adds a new level of quality and elegance to it, which is worth every penny. The all-black presentation is sleek and stylish, featuring an attractive real slate tile mantel and a dark steel body. It puts out 30,000 BTUs of Heat, like the other models of the same line, and the gas tank can be stored inside. The control panel is easy to use and hidden, ensuring that it doesn’t get in the way of the fire pit’s good looks. It’s durable and weather resistant due to it’s well-built body and quality materials. As a bonus, it comes with a free cover, 1 year of warranty and a set of stunning black fire glass that accentuates the natural beauty of the flames. An elegant and unique gas fire pit that delivers great quality at a very attractive price.
Great Deal Furniture combines good faux-stone detailing and a beautiful mantel to deliver the “Rogers” fire pit. It’s available in round or square shape in in two colorings – grey or natural – both of which look good. Even with a few drawbacks such as the off-putting door frame (it should be more discreet) and the uncoverable control panel, it’s still a solid choice due to its great heat output of 40,000 BTUs, ability to store the propane tank inside and the fantastic looking top piece. Being made of MGO, it will hold up nicely against use and weather but covering it is always a good idea. It doesn’t come with a cover but it does come with a free set of lava rocks that fit nicely with the design. It’s a good-looking, even if flawed, fire pit that offers great value and a surprisingly high-quality mantel at an inexpensive price.
This Endless Summer fire pit is popular for a reason – it’s well built, good-looking and very competitively priced, offering fantastic value at an accessible fare. The 40,000 BTUs ensure that everyone around it is comfortably warm and the stunning mosaic slate and marble tile mantel makes it a beauty to look at. This thing’s also big, measuring around 41.3”x41.3” (perfect square) and 21.7” of height, you can get a lot of people sitting or standing around it or even use it as a table. The metal decorative base is not only sturdy but well-designed, being capable of storing both the propane tank and the controls inside. It’s fairly easy to put it together and the controls are, as always, a piece of cake. It comes with 1 year of warranty and a free set of lava rocks and logs that I quite enjoyed using, although fire glass looks just as nice in it. Blue Rhino really outdid themselves with this one, the sheer value and quality you get for the price is unbelievable. When it comes to bang for your buck, this is among the best gas fire pits you can get.
I’m a fan of wicker, as I’m sure many of you are, and the Rio square fire pit features it beautifully alongside a bronze-finished steel frame that is not only resistant but also the perfect compliment to the wicker itself. It features a solid heat output of 40,000 BTUs which ensures a cozy atmosphere and the 20lb propane tank that powers it can be stored inside the fire pit. The simple controls are hidden inside as well, easily accessible by using the hinged wicker-covered door. It weighs around 114 pounds, stands at 29” of height and the top measures 38×38” with the burner sitting in the middle. The burner can be covered with a matching lid (included) that effectively turns the fire pit into a handsome table – a feature that is always appreciated. It’s well built and the materials make it resilient to use and rough weather, ensuring a long life although covering it when not in use is always optimal (cover not included). You get a 18lb set of amber colored fire glass that really fits in with the piece’s aesthetics and is a pleasure to look at. If you love wicker or already have a wicker-themed patio, look no further – this is the fire pit for you. It’s solid, well-designed and has a good price-tag to boot.
This is Great Deal Furniture’s best propane fire pit, from the very high-quality faux-stone work to the beautiful design and color choices, this is one fantastic piece that will bring life and elegance to your patio. The only drawback is the uncovered control panel, which is something that always bothers me although in this case it’s not as jarring as usual so I can give it a pass. It has a heat output of 40,000 BTUs, ensuring a comfortable and warm area around it, and the 20lb propane tank can be stored subtly inside of the base. The controls are classic and easy consisting of an effective igniter and a heat knob. The fire pit is made of MGO and steel and as such is able to endure heat and rough weather although chipping can occur with heavy hits (although this is true for nearly every material). It comes with a cover which you should use whenever possible and a set of lava rocks. In short, it’s a handsome gas fire pit that looks much more expensive than it is and has little to no flaws, making it an all-around great choice for anyone.
Modern, beautiful and potent, the “Hearth” concrete fire pit brings a contemporary look to your patio without breaking your bank. It’s available in a round or square shape and in white or dark grey color, all of which are good looking options. With a powerful heat output of 50,000 BTUs, it heats a large area with ease and the low height makes it fantastic to just sit around and enjoy the fire. Due to the low height it can’t store a propane tank inside but never fear, the fire pit comes with a matching tank holder (for 20lb tank) that doubles as a nice table – a great solution. Due to its minimalistic design, there’s no setup required and the controls are easy as ever. It’s made of MGO, making it resistant to heat and the weather but I recommend, as always, that you cover it whenever it’s not being used (cover is included for free). If you want to give a modern look to your patio, this potent and sleek fire pit is an excellent choice.
This cast aluminum beauty offers high-quality construction, decorative detailing and a great bronze and gold coloring. The 42,000 BTUs of heat output will create a warm and cozy atmosphere around the fire pit while you enjoy a few drinks with you friends throughout the night. It’s around 24” tall and has a 47” diameter tabletop with a 20” diameter burner, a size that not only lets you store a 20lb propane tank inside but also allows you to use it as a table with or without the lid (included). The quality is obvious on the materials and design and it’s also present on the technical side – it features battery-operated pulse ignition and a thermocouple flame failure device to guarantee your safety. A set of clear fireglass is included, which accents the flames beautifully and although a cover isn’t included, you should absolutely get one to protect the fire pit whenever it’s not in use. It’s classy, it’s detailed and the quality is undeniable, with a fair price-tag to boot it’s a great choice for those that want a high-quality classic-looking fire pit.
Quality and elegance are the main focus of this stunning fire pit (as well as any other of the same line). The talented team at Agio really did an excellent job on this, from the construction quality to the insanely beautiful design, materials and color choices, the Estella fire pit just screams class. It features a maximum heat output of 40,000 BTUs which is the perfect balance between keeping everyone around it nice and warm and still being a safe and comfortable experience. It uses a standard 20lb propane tank which can be stored inside the fire pit itself, avoiding any eye-sores, and the controls are not only easy to use but hidden as well. The Estella’s base is made of reinforced fiber and the tile top is made of porcelain, making it as resistant as it is beautiful. It comes with a free fabric cover, which you should use to further protect the fire pit from the elements, 1 year of warranty and 20lb of beautiful fire glass. The fire pit is quite big too, measuring 47” in diameter and 24” in height and quite heavy and sturdy as well, weighing around 200lbs. While it’s certainly not cheap, you truly do get what you pay for with this one. The stunning level of craftmanship and attention to detail elevate this piece to a level of class and elegance that make it worth every penny. I recommend the Estella if you’re looking for a luxurious gas fire pit that will heat your nights for many years with style.
The Key Largo is the type of fire pit you’d find at a 5 star hotel, the quality and class are instantly noticeable from its visuals to its performance and even to the touch. With a maximum heat output of 88,000 BTUs this is an incredibly potent gas fire pit that is sure to heat a very large area around it. The rectangular shape makes it distinctive and it’s also large standing at 24” of height, with the top measuring around 25”x54” and the burner itself 12”x42”. Its size allows it to easily store a 20lb propane tank inside and the controls (which are easy to use and very effective) are also placed inside which I deeply appreciate. On to the visuals, the brown stone supercast top is as beautiful as it is sturdy and the stucco base greatly compliments the look. You can place Key Largo indoors or outdoors, it will sit perfectly wherever you like – even on a wooden deck – although remember that it’s quite heavy (275lbs). If placed outdoors, it will easily endure the elements although using a cover is always the best choice. You can also get a glass cover for the burner to turn the fire pit into a handsome table and even a glass guard that makes it more wind-resistant and safe for kids, although both of these are sold separately. It comes with a 15lb set of clear fireglass and some other goodies including a natural gas orifice, if you want to convert it. Excellent quality meets modern design and the results are truly fantastic – the Key Largo is a contemporary gas fire pit that offers quality and performance like no other, it will last a lifetime and leave you and your guests in awe every time.
Another entry from the incredible team at GreatRoom Company, the Sierra fire pit is everything that a classic fire pit should be and more. Featuring a mocha colored super cast top and some of the best faux-stone work I’ve ever seen on a fire pit, it’s a work of art. It draws attention not only due to its considerable size (23.5”x43.5”x43.5”) and eye-catching visuals but most importantly due to its strong flame presence of 80,000 BTUs that comfortably heats a large area around it. The burner measures 24×24” and it comes with a set of diamond fireglass that compliment the fire pit beautifully. It’s capable of storing a 20 pound propane tank inside and can also be easily converted to natural gas if you want. The construction quality is second to none. From the stainless steel burner to the heavy duty supercast table top and the faux ledgestone base, this beauty can easily endure use and weather for years on end. Due to its sturdiness and resistant materials, it ends up weighing 250lbs which I appreciate as it reflects its quality. The small (and straightforward) control panel is located outside but in such a sensible and discreet way that it in no way takes away from the fire pit’s aesthetics. A glass wind guard is available to make the burner wind-resistant and safer for kids and a cover, which I highly recommend, is available too although both are sold separately. It comes with a 3 year warranty for the fire pit itself, 1 year for the finish and electronics and a lifetime warranty for the burner. The price-tag while not cheap, accurately reflects the quality that you’re getting. As stunning as it is strong, the Sierra fire pit will offer you endless hours of pleasure, comfort and class.
